Personal Learning & Thinking Skills (PLTS) Assessment
The Personal, Learning and Thinking Skills framework is the tool the government has given schools to develop independent, creative learners.
QCA, Ofsted and other agencies are promoting the need for skills, competencies and dispositions to be taught and assessed explicitly in schools.
Our sister company, YesAssess has developed a system allowing schools to assess both Personal Learning and Thinking Skills and the SEAL programme. The assessments measure improvements in 'soft' skills, dispositions, attitudes, attributes and character. By using periodic formative assessment, a YesAssessment brings together a range of judgements from the student, their peers and their teachers into a snapshot at a given time.
Observations:
- Can be done online or on paper;
- Can be done individually, in small groups, or as a whole class;
- Assess as many times as you want;
- Choose what you assess and when;
- Assess as many personal, learning and
thinking skills as you want.
Students Can:
- Get immediate feedback on their current performance and progress;
- See immediately what they need to do to improve;
- Be involved in their own assessment.
The School Can:
- Get immediate information about how the skills of their students are developing;
- Measure improvements in any initiative they are carrying out to see the impact;
- Look at how skills are being taught across the school;
- Measure the success of their curriculum and their extra curricular activities.
Prices
License: £250 per academic year
This covers setting up your school on the system, importing your students and teachers, a remote training session and on-going support.
Cost per student: £1 per student observed, per academic year
So, for a school that would like to observe 200 KS3 students, the annual cost would be £200 plus the license fee of £250. [Minimum of 100 students]
